Springs School 5th Annual Celebration of the Arts

On Tuesday, May 8th, at 5 p.m., Springs School kicks off the 5th Annual Celebration of the Arts, highlighting the artwork of students in grades Kindergarten through eighth, with an opening reception at Ashawagh Hall. Highlights from The Opera and the Student Film Festival will also be shown. The art show is also open to the public May 9 and 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This year’s Celebration of the Arts also presents the work of the Visiting Artist Program and the Studio in Art class, two new programs established this year at Springs School. The Visiting Artist Program gives students the opportunity to work with local artists, allowing them to view the artists’ studios and to create art in the style or technique of the guest artist. The Studio in Art class is designed for eighth grade students that are seriously dedicated to pursuing their art. This class provides students with the opportunity to learn art history, discuss current trends in art, and how artists of the past have influenced other artists.
