Sole East's "Montauk Acoustic Sunsets" Series Continues With Deer Tick

The Backyard Restaurant at Solé East announces the third installment in the “Montauk Acoustic Sunsets” series:  Deer Tick will perform on Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. The performance, an extension of the Music To Know (MTK) music festival, is free.

Indie country-rock band Deer Tick, hailing from Providence Rhode Island, is comprised of members John J. McCauley (guitar, vocals), Ian P. O’Neil (guitar, vocals), Rob B. Crowell (keys, organ, saxophone, vocals), Christopher D. Ryan (bass, vocals) and Dennis Ryan (drums, vocals).  They have made appearances on the Late Show With David Letterman, performed on the venerable Bonnaroo and SXSW tours, and shared stages with Neko Case, Dawes, and Jenny Lewis. In May 2009, due in large part to his love of the song "Dirty Dishes" (from 2007’s War Elephant release), NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams featured Deer Tick as the first profile band on his BriTunes web-based music interview program.  Other album releases include Born on Flag Day (2009) and The Black Dirt Sessions (2010).

Founder McCauley’s voice has been described as “a hybrid of Kurt Cobain and Gary Louris from the Jayhawks” and of their performances it has been noted “Here is a band awake to the raison d’etre of a live show – to entertain.”
