Screening: "Tyson"
, Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD) and will host a screening of "Tyson," followed by a panal discussion on the role of drug and alcohol abuse, the social construction of masculinity in violence against women. Noted author and Wainscott resident Steven Gaines will moderate the panel discussion between Dr. Charlie Robbins, Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education at Stony Brook University, and other experts on the topic.
The film is about the rise and fall of champion boxer Mike Tyson. It includes interviews and archival footage about Tyson, including his alleged physical and sexual violence against women, and substance abuse.
