HIFF: "The Bully Project"

"The Bully Project," a 2011 Brizzolara Family Foundation Award, documents America's bullying crisis. It will be shown on Oct. 14 at 2 p.m., followed by a panel discussion at the First Presbyterian Church Session House at 4 p.m. It will also be shown in East Hampton on Oct. 16 at 11:45 a.m.

Director Lee Hirsch and Subject David Long expected to be in attendance for post-screening Q&A at both screenings.

The festival says, "Capturing the experiences of the victims of America’s overlooked bullying crisis, THE BULLY PROJECT sounds an alarm on the harassment and violence taking place among children in the US––and right under our noses. The film chronicles five families whose children have been severely bullied, with the consequences often tragic: prolonged school absences, academic hardship, and, most catastrophically, suicide."
