Guild Hall and The Naked Stage will present a staged reading of "While Mortals Sleep: A Vonnegut Christmas Tale," by Matthew Burnett, based on the works by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.

From the Naked Stage: "Adapted by Matthew Burnett from only-recently published short stories by the American master Kurt Vonnegut, While Mortals Sleep: A Vonnegut Christmas Tale centers around a newspaper editor who has been roped into judging the local Christmas decoration competition.  What ensues includes a hardened criminal, an unsuspecting middle-aged couple, murder, manhunt, and garish lawn ornaments. Alternately dark, thoughtful, brutally funny, and yet hopeful, the incomparable Vonnegut voice is here . . . just in time for the holidays.
