Ashawagh Speaks: Poetry and Performance

The Springs Improvement Society and the Art Committee for the Springs Invitational will host the 44th Annual Artists of The Springs Invitational Exhibition Aug. 5 through 21. Esperanza León is the curator of over 100 artists' work. 

In addition to the art show and sale, there are several special events, including a benefit preview and wine reception won Aug. 4 from 5 to 7 pm. AshawaghHonors will recognize the distinguished and dedicated support given to Ashawagh Hall and the SIS throughout so many years by Ernestine Lassaw, Jean Hoffmann, and Abby Abrams. A $25 donation will berequested at the door.

On Aug. 11 at 7 p.m., Ashawagh Speaks, an evening of poetry and performance featuring some of the exhibiting artists, including Stephanie Brody-Lederman and Anne Sager, will be held.

On Aug. 20, from 4:30-5:30, León will lead a Curator’s Tour of the invitational.

A percentage of the sale of the artworks along with all other donations will go to the Springs Improvement Society for Ashawagh Hall and the SIS Scholarship Fund.

Hours of exhibit: Mon-Fri 1-5 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sun 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
