Clothesline Art Sale At Guild Hall This Saturday

The 67th annual Clothesline Art Sale will take place at Guild Hall in East Hampton Village from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"There's tremendous loyalty and excitement about this every year," Barbara Jo Howard, Guild Hall's marketing director said, "Just wait. Tomorrow morning over a hundred people will be lined up outside before we even open."

Almost 800 pieces of art— featuring acrylics, oil paintings, photographs, drawings, sculptures and shadow boxes— will go on sale. Nothing will be priced above $2,000 and the lowest price will be $50.

The Clothesline Art Sale primarily features local artists— about 400 in all this year. "It's a great chance to celebrate the local art's community," Howard said, "It gives everyone a chance to enjoy the work as well as shop."

Throughout the day, new artwork will be going up to replace what's taken down. All money raised through art sales will be split 50/50 between the artists and Guild Hall.

Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street, and additional parking will be available at 36 James Lane. Admission is free.
