Bay Street Theatre Presents 3 Comedies This Summer

"Lend Me a Tenor" opens in previews Tuesday.

"Lend Me a Tenor" begins in previews at Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor on Tuesday, kicking off a three-comedy summer at the nonprofit venue.

"The Mystery of Irma Vep" is coming in July and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" is being staged in August at part of the theater's Mainstage season.

Don Stephenson directs Ken Ludwig's "Lend Me a Tenor," which stars Judy Blazer, Scott Cote, Betsy DiLellio, Donna English, Nancy Johnston, Noah Plomgren, Steve Rosen and Roland Rusinek.

According to the theater, "Lend Me a Tenor" is set in 1934 and tells the story of the renowned "Il Stupendo" as he is accidentally given a double dose of tranquilizers causing a chain reaction of mistaken identity, double entendre and musical mayhem.

Tickets to "Lend Me a Tenor" are $57.50, $67.50 and $69.50 Discounts are available for seniors, students, veterans and first responders. The show runs through June 23.

"The Mystery of Irma Vep" by Charles Ludlum will be staged from July 2 to 28.

With book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, "A Funny Things Happened on the Way to the Forum" is Aug. 6 through Sept. 1.
