Bay Street Kicks Off $300K Challenge Grant

Anonymous donor will match every dollar up to $300,000.

Bay Street Theatre announced Friday that an anonymous donor promised a gift of $300,000 as part of a matching funds campaign.

The gift was in response to Bay Street’s announcement that Scott Schwartz will be the new Artistic Director for the 2014 season, the Sag Harbor theater said in a statement.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for such a generous gift,” executive director Tracy Mitchell said. “It’s the kind of support and backing that a non-profit theater requires and we couldn’t be more excited now to make it a reality.”
