Denise D'Angelo, of Baiting Hollow, won 's big raffle this season; a 2012 Mini Cooper Convertible or $18,000 in cash.
The drawing occurred at the Sag Harbor theater's annual on July 21. D'Angelo wasn't there to hear her name called, but she and her husband Tony D'Angelo soon got a phone call about their big win. In a statement from the theater on Wednesday, D'Angelo said, “When Bay Street called it was like winning on The Wheel of Fortune."
provided the Mini Cooper, though it wasn't clear if they chose the car or the money.
Proceeds from the raffle benefit Bay Street’s educational programs, such as internships offered every summer to college students and recent college graduates.
“We’re looking forward to what we can offer next year,” said Tracy Mitchell, the executive director, in the statement. “It was a lot of fun and people loved the chance of winning plus supporting Bay Street at the same time.”
