Ashawagh Hall Writers to Read at East Hampton Library

The East Hampton Library will hold a reading by the Ashawagh Hall Writers’ Group on Monday, July 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Ashawagh Hall Writers’ Group is organized by Marijane Meaker, a novelist and short story writer who has written more than 40 books under various pseudonyms, including Vin Packer and Ann Aldrich.

Of particular note, will be a reading by Erika Hecht. Hecht was a hidden child during the Nazi occupation of Hungary in World War II. Hecht, her mother and sister, all Jewish, witnessed and survived the horrors of the Holocaust. Her writing is a narrative of life during the war and its aftermath.

Hecht lives in Sag Harbor and is working on her first book.
