ARF Art Benefit: 6 Adorable Dog Portraits (and 1 real live cutie)

On Thursday night, Dorfman Projects held a reception for a collection of pet portraits by Eric Ginsburg in support of ARF, The Animal Rescue League of the Hamptons, at the Dorfman Projects, 529 West 20th Street, in Manahattan.

In addition to a gallery filled with adorable pet portraits, there was also the opportunity to commission Mr. Gingsberg to paint one's own pet, with 30% of the commissions going to benefit ARF.

More than 70 people came to admire Mr. Ginsburgs' humanistic approach to pet portraiture painting with soulful and painterly portraits reference in Alice Neel. "Look in the eyes of dogs and cats , and the love you no matter what," Ginsburg said.

ARF Executive Director Sara Davison and volunteers Lisa McCarthy and Susan Kuhlman helped introduce guests and take care of two little pups up for adoption, who watched the proceedings from pens on the gallery floor. At one point, the dogs were brought out of the pen to much ooh-ing, ahh-ing, and aww-ing.
