1. Cops: Electrical Issue Sparked Fire That Killed 90-Year-Old Man

Police and a fire chief who arrived first at a fire in Sag Harbor Village on Monday afternoon tried to save Wesley Carrion, 90, but the blaze was already too far along.

2. Town Board Appoints New Police Chief

The East Hampton Town Board on Thursday named a successor for Town Police Chief Ed Ecker, who announced earlier this month that he will step down at the end of the year.

3. Police Do Not Suspect Foul Play After Body Found in Montauk

New York State Park Police said they are investigating the death of a man who was found in Camp Hero State Park in Montauk on Wednesday.

4. Wilkinson Presents $69.96 Million Budget, His Final in Office

This week, East Hampton Town Supervisor Bill Wilkinson offered his fourth, and what will be his final budget before he leaves office, laying out a $69.96 million budget for the next administration in 2014. 

5. Woman Found Dead in East Hampton Home

After two police officers tried to save a woman found dead inside her house in the Northwest Woods in East Hampton on Monday afternoon they were overcome by exposure to carbon monoxide.
