Week in Review: Officers Run for Special Olympics

1. Watchcase Hosts Walk-Through at First Model Unit

It's been seven and a half years since a group of investors purchased the vacant brick behemoth of a building with 999 windows in the middle of Sag Harbor. And on Thursday, Cape Advisors — along with a team of architects, designers, salespeople and more — gave a group of about 20 members of the media an inaugural walk-through of the 122-year-old building's renovation.

2. Springs Landlord Charged With Unlawful Surveillance

Donald Torr, a 70-year-old Springs landlord, taped "hundreds of hours" of footage involving 22 people, including nine children, over two weeks in August 2012, Assistant District Attorney John Cortez said at Torr's arraignment in Suffolk County Criminal Court in Riverside on Wednesday.

3. McGowin Goes To Angels in MLB Draft

Congratulations are in order for Sag Harbor's very own Kyle McGowin. The 21-year-old right-handed pitcher was drafted to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim selected him with their fourth pick in the 2013 MLB Draft.

4. Friends Aim to Raise $50k for Crash Victim

Friends of Lorna Tobin and her fellow yoga students have pulled together over the past two and a half weeks to raise money to help her pay for medical bills and living expenses when she is finally released from the hospital. Find out more about how you can help.

5. Police Officers Run To Raise Money, Bring Awareness To Special Olympics

Special Olympic athletes Trent Hampton and Ben Beavers led the pack of police officers in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, a 14-mile run from Montauk to East Hampton, on Thursday, and when the run was over, they were thanking the officers for their support.
