1. East Hampton's Credit Rating Increases

The Town of East Hampton's credit rating got a boost last week as Moody's Investment Service raised the town's rating to 'Aa3,' which is the fourth highest rating.

Rescue workers helped pull a man who had fallen into a basement at a construction site in East Hampton on Tuesday evening.

Cops Warn Drivers To Safeguard Cars In Light of Luxury Auto Thefts

With the number of high-end vehicle thefts now up to 18 between Westhampton and Wainscott this summer, police said the public can help deter such crimes of opportunity. As previously reported, vehicles stolen have been left unlocked and with spare keys inside. 

4. New York City Man Accused of Raping 20-Year-Old Woman

East Hampton Town Police Detective Lt. Chris Anderson said Jason Lee, 37, stands charged with first-degree rape, a felony. A 20-year-old woman accused him of forcing her to have sex with him at his house on Clover Leaf Lane. Lee retained Sag Harbor attorney Edward Burke Jr. who said, "My client is adamant that this did not occur." 

5. Historic Anchor Unearthed off Amagansett Beach

Dory men hauled in much more than they bargained for on Wednesday morning: a large, old anchor.
