Video: How To Handle an Ocean Emergency

Officials simulated a swimmer in distress call.

The East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue Squad simulated a swimmer in distress call at the beach west of Napeague Lane on Sunday morning before a few dozen beach-goers. The message was two-fold: If you see someone having trouble in the water, call 911 immediately and make sure you're clear about your location.
