The Town of East Hampton could see some minor beach erosion this afternoon due to coastal flooding.
The National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Statement for the area at about 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Isolated minor coastal flooding is expected for high tide cycles through early this afternoon.
There could be "localized flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and/or basements due to height of storm tide," the statement said. "Minor beach erosion is possible with 5 to 7 feet breaking waves at the beaches today."
The town has also been under a wind advisory since Friday morning. It is supposed to end by 2 p.m. Winds were forecasted east 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph are expected.
