Elsie S. Garretson, of Springs, turned 101 on Sunday.
Last year, when Garretson reached 100, the Ladies Village Improvement Society of East Hampton .
Garretson told us then that she began coming to Springs in the 1940s, when she lived with her family in Malverne. She didn't begin volunteering with the LVIS until 1969, when she found a niche for herself working in the Bargain Books store. She volunteered there until she was 96.
From everyone at Patch, we wish Mrs. Garretson a Happy (belated) Birthday and much happiness in the year ahead. Wish this lovely lady a happy birthday, too, in the comments below.
