Rain Cancels Gazpacho Cook Off

Peconic Land Trusts says it is trying to organize another date for the friendly competition.

Due to the weather, "Souper Tuesday"  at the Amagansett Farmers Market, which was scheduled for Tuesday evening, has been cancelled.

The cold gazpacho cook off was to take place, several local farms and restaurants were taking part, including Quail Hill, Balsam Farms, Nick & Toni's, Amber Waves, Bhumi Farm, Navy Beach, and Amagansett Sea Salt.

In addition, Escola de Samba Boom was going to provide live music, while Michael Cinque of Amagansett Wine & Spirits was to offer wine tasting. Laura Donnelley, food writer from The East Hampton Star, was to serve as the emcee. 

The Peconic Land Trust said it is trying to schedule another date.
