PHOTOS: 'Nana' Remembered at '50s Style Sock Hop

Money raised for families in need in memory of the late Kattie O. Berkoski.

Donning poodle skirts and leather jackets, supporters gathered to remember Kattie O. Berkoski at the Nana Cares Foundation first fundraiser on Friday night. 

The band Hot Wax played classic rock tunes such as "Under the Boardwalk", "Stand by Me", and "Ring of Fire" while people danced and dined on '50s style comfort foods at the . 

A Chinese auction and a silent auction took place, as well as a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the charity that will give assistance to families in need. The Arthur Murray School of Dance had three instructors on hand to get the crowd going and teach some moves.

The five founders of Nana Cares, Berkoski's three daughters Teresa Schurr, Tara Mansir and Tina Ozturk and their friends Fran Silipo and Vanessa Bock were all there in their '50s skirts.

Also in attendance were the founding members of Lucia's Angels, (the charity receiving some of the foundation's funds) Susan Wojcik, Theresa Roden, Susie Barry Roden, and Gwen McGowan, while Berkoski's widower, Gerry Berkoski, helped out in the kitchen serving up the comfort food.
