On Saturday, hundreds of bike riders flocked to Amagansett for the 2011 Soldier Ride, held in honor of fallen Marine Jordan Haerter.
Proceeds from the walk went to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a program aimed at getting injured soldiers back to emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
Thirty and 60-mile bike rides left from Amagansett on Saturday morning, while walkers left from Sag Harbor, en route walking over a bridge dedicated to Haerter, a former Shelter Island resident.
