PHOTO OF THE DAY: Horses Graze in the Village

Send us photos you take around town.

Ted Borsack spied something you don't see every day — horses grazing on Pantigo Road in East Hampton. He snapped this shot outside his window at Strong Insurance Agency on Friday afternoon. "Some come by cars, some walk and some the old school way," he wrote on the agency's Facebook page

Send us your photo and we may use it as a photo of the day. Email Taylor.Vecsey@patch.com. Thanks!

Cool. I remember not to long ago it was not uncommon to see a horse and buggy on Main Street or someone on horseback on the back roads.

Before East Hampton got all snobby and germ phobic we kids would ride our horses to school, to town, Amagansett diner for lunch, Stoneyhill, swim in the bay...good clean fun....now its all about the part-timers and their wants, musts and needs. Horse " poop" as you call it is less offensive , more natural then any of the other animal manure everyone is afraid of. There were never any complaints about the local people doing their thing. Go Marylou, but be careful, its not the same now.

Dog the only one who seems to need attention rite now is you. Why do you think people associate prestige when they hear the word Hamptons? What do you think drove people to spend five hours on the LIE to come out here or spend ridiculous amounts of money to rent a place if only for three months? It was the timelessness of this place. The beauty of spending the day at the beach with your best friends even if some of them had four legs. It was real beauty not artificial materialistic beauty. Cars like Mercedes were considered tacky even by the people who could afford any car they wanted. You are attacking a sight that was not uncommon at all 15 or 20 years ago. The Hamptons did not get its name over night and is why it may not lose its name over night. However as sights like this disappear so will all the reasons to drive 5 hours on the LIE and spend ridiculous amounts of money on rent and in restaurants. Horses by the way need to be socialized and exposed to the outside world of society, just like dogs or kids. That way when they are approached they don't act like social out casts who freak out over the littlest poop. Now you know why the grass is greener on this side of the canal. You should apologize trying to put the lady down for being good to her animals and giving kids and adults something to smile upon.

Dog- Why are you so bitter? Are you just a dumb dog or did your mama not show you any love when you were growing up? You display your ignorance with such pride. Good for you.

Hey Dumb Dog- That was funny the part about keeping my comment being under 20,000 words. LOL. I tried to keep it as short and to the point just for you, since I know you have problems with your ability to comprehend anything.

Dog - I mean, Matthew Norklun in East Hampton Village who lost his job as a part-time lifeguard for trying to prove poop. LOL. I knew you would come out from the rock you were under with a article like this. Go clean the beach.

From 1992 -2001 I kept my horses at Dune Alpin and often drove the Clydesdale you see in the picture put to a carriage or cart , along with several driving ponies.Obsession with " poop" is a behavior that normaly ceases to be at 3, if your compelled I sugest you inspect the lawn.We were there a couple hours.
