On Day of Gay Rights Decisions, Rally Planned in Water Mill

Opponents of Proposition 8 and DOMA will have a demonstration Wednesday outside Incarnation Lutheran Church.

No matter how the U.S. Supreme Court rules Wednesday on the federal Defense of Marriage Act and California's Proposition 8, same-sex marriage and gay rights advocates plan to rally in Water Mill in Wednesday.

The "Decision Day" demonstration is in solidarity with rallies planned across the country, in a movement dubbed "United for Marriage."

East Enders will gather on the grounds of Incarnation Lutheran Church in Water Mill near the Bridgehampton border at 5 p.m. Some will arrive as early as 4 p.m. to begin making signs and posters.

There is a Facebook event page to RSVP.

A similar rally was held at the church grounds in March as the Supreme Court heard arguments in both cases.
