Nov. 24: Thanksgiving Eve Fun Before the Family Feast

Flag football, men's soccer finals, and a club night at Lily Pond are all happening on the day before you give thanks.

Hopefully, you've done your grocery shopping for your Thanksgiving feast so that you don't have to stand on the long lines at the stores. Instead, spend the day enjoying yourself, like with a game of flag football or dancing the night away.

1. One serious note, before the festivities. Today is the last day to hand in nominating petitions to run for commissioner of the Montauk, Amagansett, Springs, and Bridgehampton fire districts. Commissioner elections will be held on Dec. 14 at your district firehouse. You do not have to be a member of a fire department to run. Nominating petions must be handed in to the district clerks by 5 p.m.

2. Montauk Youth has organized the annual  flag football game for today between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to play. Just show up at  and be ready to run.

3. Speaking of sports, the  are tonight at . Watch the guys compete for the title at 6:30 p.m.

4. is open tonight for some pre-Thanksgiving fun. A DJ will spin tunes all night long. Girls must be 18 years old and over, guys 21 and over. There is only a $10 cover charge.

5. Thanksgiving Eve is traditionally the biggest drinking night of the year. As a reminder for everyone in East Hampton to stay safe, remember to have a designate driver and call a cab if necessary. You can find them in our directory.
