Nick Kraus Crowned Mr. Amagansett

Over $5,000 raised for local groups or families in need at the third annual pageant on Saturday.

The third annual Mr. Amagansett pageant crowned a new king of the hamlet — the 's own Nick Kraus.

A coveted title, the pageant raised over $5,000 on Saturday for in honor of the late building inspector and Amagansett Fire Department volunteer who died suddenly in 2009. The money goes to local community groups, fire departments and families in need.

Kraus, who has competed every year, finally won with his comical film about his depression due to losing twice in a row, according to Newsday.com.
