The Retreat, a domestic violence services agency based in East Hampton, has named Patrice Dalton, its new Chief Financial Officer.

Dalton, who was an executive serving large pharmaceutical and biotech companies, actually came across the job opportunity while researching the best way to donate furniture to The Retreat. “The surprise of finding that job announcement—and the timing of it—was just unbelievable,” Dalton said.

The CFO position opened after Jennifer Critcher announced plans in late 2013 to leave the position at year-end after more than a decade.

“I am so excited to now be working for The Retreat because the work that this organization does is so passionately life-affirming," she said. “I am so thrilled to be able to give back to the community, so directly, with this team," she added.

Nicole Behrens, the board president, said, “It is great to welcome Patrice home in this way. This is a win-win. Patrice Dalton is a person who brings to The Retreat the necessary perspective, leadership, commitment, and expertise in all things budget- finance-, strategy-, and cause-related.”

Dalton worked at Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Hoffman La Roche, and Genentech. She received her Master's Degree in Policy and Planning and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political science from Stony Brook University.

The Retreat is a not-for-profit organization that provides domestic violence services and support for victims. The Retreat provides a Crisis Hotline, domestic violence shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, and domestic violence prevention education.
