McCartney Met Bride in the Hamptons, Marries in London

Beatle Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell tie the knot in civil ceremony.

Amagansett homeowner Paul McCartney married his longtime girlfriend Nancy Shevell in London on Sunday.

The couple wed in the Old Marylebone Town Hall, where McCartney married his first wife, the late Linda Eastman in 1969.

As detailed in The Huffington Post, they met over four years ago here on the South Fork. Shevell, an heiress, is on the board of New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority and is the vice president of a trucking company, owned by her father, in New Jersey.

The 69-year-old former Beatle married in a civil service, which was attended by family and friends, such as Beatle drummer Ringo Starr and "The View" co-host Barbara Walters, who is a second cousin to Shevell.

The day also happened to be the birthday of John Lennon, who would have been 71.

McCartney's second marriage to Heather Mills ended in divorce in 2008. Their 7-year-old daughter, Beatrice, served as a flower girl for the nuptials.
