March 7: Dinner Honors Lifetime Achievers in the Arts and Friends Deems Fundraiser a Success

Some information about the day to help you get into the swing of things for the week.

It may be hard to drag yourself back to the weekday routine on Monday -- believe me, we at Patch understand. Here are some items to make the day a bit easier to get through, and, perhaps, inspire you a bit.  

1. is taking the show on the road Monday evening, holding its in New York City at Cipriani 42nd Street. Receiving the Guild Hall Lifetime Achievement Award are Montauk resident Dick Cavett for performing arts, Elizabeth Peyton for visual arts, Marshall Brickman for literary arts, and Lewis B. Cullman for the special award for leadership and philanthropic endeavors.

2. Did you miss the column on its new day (Friday)? Check out which dance class made the cut. It starts at 5:45 p.m., so check out the column before this evening.

3. After a great turnout at the last Community Potluck Dinner, hosted by the , Kathleen Furey will make a return visit for the subsequent dinner on Monday night. She will give a brief talk on "" at . If you R.S.V.P'd, bring your dish to share at 6:30 p.m.

4. The meets on Monday night. They convene in the Montauk School library at 7 p.m. On the agenda is the Navy Road Beach erosion and the status of moving “no parking” signs from the old Main Street Hampton Jitney stop to Montauk Highway by Kirk Park.

5. Speaking of the Point, the Montauk Friends of Erin held the annual corned beef and cabbage fundraising dinner on Saturday night. The Montauket was jumping with live entertainments and good food. Check back later for photos from the fun evening.
