Lillian, a brown tabby and black domestic shorthair, came in a stray and wants to go out a house cat.
That's why the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, where she has been since 2009, has made her a scholarship candidate.
The scholarship program, designed to help older animals find a home, provides financial assistance to people adopting. The adoption fee is waived, too.
"She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside," the shelter staff said. "She is gentle, sweet and very vocal, and she would love to have someone to talk to and keep company."
Like all animals at ARF, Lillian has been fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. She has also been treated for fleas, ticks and parasites.
