Last Chance: Recognizing Administrative Professionals

Carol Bennett, who works in the highway department, is just one of the many who deserve our appreciation.

Wednesday is Administrative Professionals Day.

This unofficial holiday recognizes the hard work and importance of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists and anyone who handles the administrative support in the work place.

Many administrative professionals help us at Patch get our work done at Patch. I'd like to recognize a few who field our phone calls, help us get information we need, and a whole lot more — Judy Booth-Richter, Amanda Bono, Carolina Chumi, Dorothy Peel, and Amy Ruhle at the , Sue Byrd and Layla Bennett at the , Johnson Nordlinger in the , Larry Cantwell, June Lester, and the entire staff at .

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Carol Bennett, pictured here, who is the senior clerk typist in the . She is doing the work of two for about a year and a half since Danna Miller retired. Highway Superintendent Stephen Lynch and Kevin Ahearn, the deputy superintendent, rave about her work.

I'm sure we are forgetting someone who deserves recognition, so my apologies in advance.
