This week is flying by. Can you believe it's already Thursday? Here's what's going on around town before the weekend gets started.

1. The meet for its monthly work session on Thursday morning in the . The meeting starts at 11 a.m.

2. opens with a preview party on Thursday evening at Sayre Park in Bridgehampton benefiting . The fair, which is open from July 8 through July 10 at Sayre Park, will start with a champagne reception at 6 p.m. Galleries will exhibit modern and contemporary art work.

3. with the Group for the East End. Naturalist Mike Bottini, the author of Exploring East End Waters, will lead kayakers starting from Landing Lane and Old Stone Highway in Amagansett at 6:30 p.m. Rentals will be available for $30 or tandems for $50.

4. The hosts , author of Full Circle: Escape from Baghdad and Return, which tells his life story. The talk, starting at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.
