July 5: Musicians Strike A Chord Around Town

From a Concert on the Green to Crossroads, music is playin' all over.

The Fourth of July weekend is over and if you one of the lucky ones not still sitting in traffic back to the city, you're still here to enjoy some of the music happenings around town.

1. But first, there's some business to take care of at the schools. The is the first of the school districts to hold their reorganizational meetings of the year. The board meets on Tuesday morning and will welcome newcomer to the board at 7:30 a.m. The will meet for its reorganizational meeting on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. Elizabeth Mendelman and Tim Frazier will join the board. 2. A family movie will be shown at the on Tuesday afternoon at 2. A movie is shown each Tuesday between July 5 and Aug. 23.

3. continues its on Tuesda evening. Local group Paul Mahos & New Life Crisis will perform from 6 to 10 p.m.

4. The Monday night was moved to Tuesday because of the Fourth of July holiday. Chiron Red will perform, playing acoustic rock from the 60s. It all starts at 6:30 p.m.

5. For even more music, head to Amagansett for with Cynthia Daniels for WPPB 88.3 FM and WEER 88.7 FM at 8 p.m. Matt Cartsonis will share songs and stories about his work with Warren Zevon, Jennifer Warnes, Van Dyke Parks, Glen Campbell, John McEuen, Steve Martin, The Austin Lounge Lizards, Bryndle, The Kingston Trio, Bob Haworth, Phil Cody and Peter Himmelman.
