Gwyneth Paltrow, Padma Lakshmi Slated for Authors Night

Also, Katie Beers will return to East Hampton for event that supports East Hampton Library.

On Saturday, big names in the film, television and literary worlds will gather under one tent to raise money for the East Hampton Library.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Padma Lakshmi, Marcus Samuelsson, Lidia Bastianich, Clive Davis, and Sylvia Day, just to name a few, will sign the books they've penned during Authors Night at the Gardiner Farm on James Lane in the village.

Alec Baldwin, the found co-chair, and Barbara Goldsmith will be joined by honorary co-chairs Robert A. Caro, Nelson DeMille, A.M. Homes, Robert K. Massie, and Joseph E. Stiglitz. Paltrow, who owns a home with Amagansett, is also serving as a co-chair.

“We’re very excited about this year’s event," said Dennis Fabiszak, the library director. "With more best-selling authors than ever before, this year’s Authors Night is on track to be the biggest and best Authors Night ever.”

The 2012 Authors Night raised over $200,000 for the library.

Among the authors with a local connection is Katie Beers, who grew up in East Hampton after her kidnapping ordeal in Bay Shore captured national attention 20 years ago. Now 30, she broke her silence with the release earlier this year of "Buried Memories: Katie Beers' Story," which she wrote with CBS reporter Carolyn Gusoff.

Guests at the reception can mingle with authors, purchase their books, and have them signed, while also enjoying hors d'oeuvres and wine.

Tickets are still available for $100 for the reception, which starts at 5 p.m., and $250 for the dinners that follow (the entry fee to the reception is included in the latter price).

The ninth annual benefit for the library, it is usually held on the library grounds, but with the children's wing construction project still underway, the reception is being held at the farm nearby for the second year in a row.
