We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

 

Where/When: Springs Fire House, Sunday from 7 to 11 a.m. 
Why Go:
Hosted by the Ex-Chiefs Association, the chiefs will be cooking their eggs, home fries, pancakes, bacon, and sausage. You'll be supporting the fire department and getting a hearty breakfast all in one. 
Pricing: $8 each-- not bad for a family breakfast

Where/When: on Sunday, 3 to 6:30 p.m.
Why Go:
It's something for the whole family and it benefits the Springs School. Aside from penne, meatballs, and garlic knots prepared from some local chefs from , , , , the , and . There will also be a bake sale, music from DJ Matt Coss, children's art projects, a 50/50 raffle, and silent auction. 
Pricing: $10 for adults, $5 for children (kids under 5 eat free)

Where/When: Springs Youth Center, Fridays, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Why Go: Provides moms and their babies or pre-schoolers the opportunity to interact in an organized activities, and also allows mothers to exchange ideas and resources. 
Pricing:
 Free -- what's better than that?

Where/When: , in the Agnes Day Room, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Why Go: 
 Scour the shelves for the perfect book for yourself and let the kids pick their own. You can be sure you'll get a great deal, while also promoting a little reading in the house.

$1 -- what can you ever get for a buck?

Why Go:
A story and craft time geared for families, what's better than that? This week's theme is Valentine's Day.
