Get Your Bonac Clam Chowder Saturday

Tickets still available for the Springs Fire Department fundraiser.

The Springs Fire Department will be serving up a clam chowder dinner at the firehouse on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Fred Overton, the East Hampton Town Clerk and East Hampton Town Councilman Elect, will make his famed Bonac Clam Chowder that he's served at the Town Trustees' Largest Clam Contest. Overton is also a longtime Springs firefighter.

David M. King, the Springs Fire Department first assistant chief, described the soup as more like a Manhattan clam chowder than a New England one, with less tomato and more clams.
