East Hampton Dems To Host Holiday Party

The celebration will take place on Dec. 13.

The East Hampton Town Democratic Committee is set to hold its annual holiday party, which is open to the community, on Friday.

This year's event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Palm and feature hors d'oeuvres and the announcement of the "Democrat of the Year."

The committee said it has a lot to celebrate this year with numerous Democrats elected to local offices, including newly elected Supervisor Larry Cantwell, Town Councilwoman Katheee Burke Gonzlez, Justice Steven Tekulsky, Town Clerk Carole Brennan, Assessor, Eugene DePasquale, Highway Superintendent Steven Lynch, and incumbent Democratic Trustees Steve Lester and Deborah Klughers. Not to mention two new trustees — Brian Byrnes and Bill Taylor.

The Democrats also said they plan to give special recognition to retiring Justice Catherine Cahill for 20 years of service on the Town Justice Court.

In addition, Democratic Committee will honor the memory of Phyllis Madan, a
passionate Democrat who the committee said, "worked tirelessly over 20 years as a Committee member for the preservation of our town."

Cost for the event is $40 at the door and $30 for pre-registration. The price at the door will be $40. Reserve a space by clicking here.
