Dec. 10: Gingerbread Houses, Meditation, and the Marx Brothers

The weekend is upon us. If you're wondering what's going on around town, just check out our events calendar. Or, here's a quick rundown of the what could be on your agenda for the day. Sag Harbor, in particular, has a lot going on today. 

1. Curious whether bed bugs are a problem on the eastern end of Long Island? The insects have become an epidemic in New York City and they've been spotted in libraries as close as Riverhead. East Hampton Patch will bring you a story later today about the situation on the South Fork.

3. To celebrate Emily Dickinson's 180th birthday, Canio's Books in Sag Harbor will host a . Poet Julie Sheehan will read at 6 p.m.. A gingerbread cookie reception will follow.

4. Speaking of gingerbread, families at the  will be  gingerbread houses, "Winter Wonderlands," and trains on Friday night. The kits had to be pre-ordered, but we'd love to see the final products from those who signed up. Send your best creations to Taylor.Vecsey@patch.com.
