Monday

POETRY WORKSHOP: Poets come together at the East Hampton Library to share their ideas and poems at 5:30 p.m.

KIWANIS CLUB: The Kiwanis Club of East Hampton meet at Harbor Grill at 6:30 p.m. New members are welcome.

VEGAN "SOUPER" BOWL: The Wellness Foundation's monthly Community Potluck dinner also marks its second annual Vegan "Souper" Bowl, where 10 people can enter their soup in a contest, at the East Hampton Middle School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. Free. 

Tuesday

WORK SESSION: The East Hampton Town Board will meet for its first work session of February at Town Hall at 10 a.m.

ZBA: The East Hampton Town Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

STAGED READING: Guild Hall in partnership with The Naked Stage presents an evening of Essay Readings, "Living, Out Loud: Writers Dish on Love, Sweat & Fears," featuring Paula Ganzi Licata, Robin Eileen Bernstein, Iyna Bort Caruso, Michael A. Casano, Claudia Gryvatz Copquin, and Heather Dune Macadam. The reading begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Wednesday

PLANNING BOARD: The East Hampton Town Planning Board will meet at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday

WORK SESSION: The East Hampton Village board will hold its work session at the Emergency Communications Building at 11 a.m.

TOWN BOARD: The East Hampton Town Board will meet for its regular meeting at Town Hall at 7 p.m.

WORD UP! POETRY PROGRAM: Guild Hall presents Montauk School’s Word Up! Poetry Program during which midle school students will read original works, selected poems, memorized works, and fellow students' poems at the John Drew Theater, starting at 7 p.m.

Friday 

DEDICATION: Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman invites the community to attend the Long Wharf Deed Dedication at noon, in front of B. Smith's restaurant on the Long Wharf.  In December, the Suffolk County Legislature unanimously approved transfering the wharf to the Village of Sag Harbor.

THE HOTPOCKETS: The Hotpockets will perform at the Stephen Talkhouse at 10 p.m. Price: $10

Saturday

MEET TUSKEGEE AIRMAN LEE HAYES: Adults, teens and children in grades three and up are invited to meet Lee Hayes, who grew up in Amagansett and will share his experiences as a Tuskegee Airman. Kathy Curran and Noel Gish of the Suffolk County Historical Society will conduct a conversational interview at 3:30 p.m. A photo exhibit of the Tuskegee Airmen is also on loan to the library through the month of February. Register in advance for the event.

MUSIC: Kate Lee and Ran Dank, two young, world renowned pianists, will play a selection of ballet music, such as Stavinsky's Rite of Spring, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in East Hampton at 4 p.m. Price: $20, students under 18, free

PORK ROAST DINNER: Amagansett Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is hosting a pork roast dinner at the firehouse from 5 to 7 p.m. Take out is available. Tickets will be available at the door. Price: $15 for adults, $8 for kids. 

SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE FUNDRAISER FOR I-TRI: Clairvoyant/Medium Colleen Clarke will make connections with the "Other Side" at Gurney's Inn, as a fundraiser for i-tri. Price: Tickets are $90 in advance, $100 at the door. Purchase tickets at www.itrigirls.org

QUIZ SHOW FUN'RAISER: The Sag Harbor Booster Foundation will hold a quiz show fundraiser at the former Stella Maris School gym at 7 p.m. Tickets are expected to sell out, so purchase them through the foundation website ahead of time. Refreshments and a cash bar. Price: $25 per person on teams of 4, 6, or 8

SCREENING: Guild Hall will screen "Barrymore," starring Christopher Plummer, about the legendary actor John Barrymore, one of the greatest Shakespearean actors of all time.  Following the film, there will be a screening of the “making of” documentary Backstage with Barrymore featuring Helen Mirren, Julie Andrews and Zoe Caldwell. It all begins at 8 p.m. Price: $18, $16 members

Sunday

EMPTY BOWLS: Bring your empty bowl to the Springs Seedlings fundraiser at the American Legion in Amagansett from noon to 3 p.m. 

VALENTINE'S DAY COOKIE DECORATING WORKSHOP: Kids 6 to 9 can learn how to make cookies for the upcoming holiday at Guild Hall at 1 p.m. Register your child in advance. Price: $8, $6 for members

SEAL HIKE: Hikers meet at the Montauk Point Lighthouse concession building at 1 p.m. Reservations are required. Price: Fees are $5 per adult, $3 for children 7 to 18, and free for children 6 & under

WINTER FILM SERIES: The East Hampton Library's free winter film series, in partnership with Guild Hall, continues at the theater with "Foreign Letters," at 4:30 p.m.
