All You Can Sip For Springs Seedlings

Local chefs will be serving up soups to support school project.

Bring a spoon and a bowl to the third annual to benefit the Springs Seedlings Project on Sunday at the . About 20 chefs from a variety of restaurants will serve up all types of soups from Brazilian and Thai to Matzo Ball and Vegan, and many more. 

“It is a fun locally-based event for everybody on a Sunday," said organizer Bryan Futerman, a Springs resident and a chef. He will be serving up soup from his own restaurant, in Water Mill. 

It's all you can sip for $10 -- $5 if your a child over 5 years old. Soup lovers are encouraged to go from booth to booth sampling soups from noon to 3 p.m.

Springs Seedlings is a project centered around a new greenhouse at the . , meant to educate students about food, nutrition, how to grow their food, in 2008.  helps support Springs Seedlings through after-school programs associated with food and the greenhouse.

Springs Seedlings students will be lending their chef hands. A group will help make alphabet soup at ’s, where Realmuto is the executive chef. Realmuto said,  “We thought the kids should actually be able to participate, beyond setting up for the fundraiser.”

Other participating restaurants include , , and the , among others. 

The fundraising event also includes arts and crafts for the children, a bake sale, and a 50/50 raffle. If you forget your bowl at home, you can purchase one that the Springs Seedlings made.

You can also get soup to go -- a quart is $10.
