Alec Baldwin Draws Crowd at BookHampton
The cold weather didn't keep fans away from a reading of "Huckleberry Finn."
Actor and book-lover Alec Baldwin came to to do a reading from Mark Twain's "Huckleberry Finn" for children, as well as adults, on Saturday.
They started lining up at 2:30 for a 4 p.m. reading, and when Baldwin saw the crowds he agreed to do a second reading to accommodate the overflow.
Children were given preferred seating on the floor, and 84 chairs were set up for adults, while people stood shoulder to shoulder throughout the entire bookstore. During the second reading, student Cecilia DeHavenon became his reading partner.
