#78 — Free Screenings, Tests Available at Health Fair

East Hampton hosts a health fair on the first Friday of the month from October to April.

In economic hard times, the cost of healthcare may prove to be too much.

Free disease screenings can ease that burden. A free community health fair takes place on the first Friday of every month from October through April in East Hampton, so there is little excuse not to make it to at least one and make sure you are still in good health.

The , the South Fork Community Health Initiative and sponsor this opportunity at the school building on Meadow Way in East Hamton Village.

You can get free glucose, total cholesterol, and blood pressure screenings, as well as HIV and sexually transmitted infection testing.

Those who attend can also apply for food stamps, speak with a health insurance representative, and receive information about HEAP and Project Warmth, home heating assistance programs.

Information on future appointments for no-cost mammogram and pap tests will also be available, as well as applications for colorectal screenings.
