Andrea L. Parker To Exhibit Photographs of Early Girl Farm at the Quogue Library

Photographer Andrea L. Parker will exhibit her photographs of Early Girl Farm at the Quogue Library from May 1 through May 28, 2014. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, May 3 from 2:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Andrea Parker, a native of Long Island, has been a part of Early Girl Farm in East Moriches for the past three years.  Her photographs capture the surface beauty, vibrance, and symmetry of Early Girl's wholesome organic produce.  While moods are playful, there is an underlying theme of the hardship inherent in the process of seeding, planting, cultivating, and harvesting.  Every stage of growth has created a daily canvas from which her work has materialized.  The life of a farmer is truly a labor of love.  The farm has provided organic inspiration and put Andrea in touch with a like-minded community that contributes to the positive energy on the farm and who are a constant source of support.  Andrea's tenure at the farm has engendered a love for Kunekune pigs, and she now owns one of her own; her name is Eva McPherson.

In the spring of 2013 Parker had her first solo photography exhibition at the Remsenburg Academy. She won the garden category in 2012 at the Remsenburg Academy, and exhibited at Fire Island's 9th Annual Art show in 2010.
The gallery is open Sunday & Monday 12-5, Wednesday, Friday, & Saturday 10-5, and Tuesday & Thursday 10-8.  Examples of Parker's work can be viewed at her website: www.andreaparkerphotography.com.
