Steve Haweeli of WordHampton To Be Honored at Long Island Hospitality Ball on June 18

Steve Haweeli, founder and president of WordHampton Public Relations, is one of Long Island Long Island's most successful and recognizable agency principals.  This year, as honoree of the second Long Island Hospitality Ball, he will be recognized for his industry achievements by Long Island's hospitality headliners along with two peers, Tony Greco and Larry Romer.

He is an ambassador for the region who is often sought for views by national, NY metro and local media on the restaurant and hospitality business, social media and Hamptons lifestyle subjects. His award-winning firm representing signature hospitality, real estate and lifestyle businesses, is ranked by PR industry bible Jack O’Dwyer’s Newsletter as one of the country’s top 100 independent PR firms in the U.S.

The gala, taking place Monday, June 18, was created and organized to raise funds for American Cancer Society by showcasing offerings from the region’s top restaurants, wine and spirit brands, nightclubs, entertainers, hotels and catering halls.  Newsday’s Jim Bernstein and Erica Marcus called the 2011 inaugural event  “one of the largest fundraising events in years to raise money to battle cancer” and “a food-industry showcase.”  The night raised more than $170,000. This year, 2,000 guests are expected and will be made possible by more than 150 industry sponsors.
