Robert B. Anderson, affectionately know to many as Bob, Pop, and Uncle Robert, was born and raised in Amagansett and East Hampton. He passed away at Southampton Hospital on Friday, Jan. 18, nine days after his 90th birthday, and surrounded by his family.
Bob was a true supporter of Bonac sports and even followed the boys basketball team to Albany on at least three occasions. A family man, many would see him out and about on Sundays for breakfast, a day he truly looked forward to. He was a man that could make a stranger feel like a friend with his smile and quick wit. Many have left notes stating that East Hampton has lost a legend.
A graveside service for all to attend will be held this Thursday, January 24 at 1 p.m. at the Cedar Lawn Cemetary on Cooper Lane with a reception followed at the American Legion in Amagansett. Donations can be made to Fighting Chance, P.O. Box 1358, Sag Harbor, NY, 11963
