I would love to hear some suggestions on how to convince family and friends who are smokers to quit.

What worked for me is making a bet with a close friend that I couldn't afford to lose. The bet was that I could or couldn't quit for a year. After I won there was no sense in smoking again. This was in 1984 it worked for me.

I don't smoke, never had, just pointing out another consequence of when you quit smoking. Sheesh, some people are sensitive.
