Wednesday Round-Up: Support Springs EMT, Look Out for Missing Dog

Your guide to what's going on in the community.

Good morning, East Hampton.

— There's a dog missing in Springs. Please take a look at this post about Izzy in case you see her around town.

— Mark your calendar for Saturday. Karen Haab will be honored at a ceremony at the Springs Fire Department at 1 p.m. FASNY presented her with an award for EMS Provider of the Year in August, and representatives from the organization will travel to Springs to honor her in front of the community. The public is invited to attend.

Are you ready for the Trail of Terror? Groundworks @ Hrens is hosting a haunted walk at the garden center on Oct. 17 and 18, and then, again, next week on Oct. 25 and 26. The hours are 7 to 10 p.m. Get ready to be spooked!

— Speaking of Halloween, how do we keep our kids safe during trick or treating? We’d love to know what parents tell their kids ahead of Halloween, and what guidelines they set on where kids go and what they do. Our Family Room blog hopes to be the place where parents can share their thoughts on issues like Halloween safety, or to share any advice on building strong local families.

— Looking for a job now that the summer season is over? The Hamptons GLBT Center in Sag Harbor is looking for a program assistant and C. Wonder in Southampton needs stock associates. Check our weekly employment guide.
