Update on Woman's Death; Volunteer at Suffolk's Long-Term Care Homes

Your guide to what's happening in the community.

Happy Tuesday, East Hampton.

-- East Hampton was abuzz with news this weekend when a woman was reported missing from a boat that was anchored off of Montauk, and her body was later recovered. Though homicide detectives from the Suffolk County Police Department are assisting the East Hampton Town police in their investigation, nothing seems suspicious, police said on Monday.

-- Right around the same time Ninive Petrocelli went missing, rescuers got another call for help from the family of a man who said he went swimming around midnight and hadn't been seen since. After a two-hour search, they found him hiding in the bushes at his house — reportedly naked. CurbedHamptons reported the man, whose name police are not releasing, is the son-in-law of Chevy Chase, who was down at the beach looking for him.

-- Need a job? Rowdy Hall in East Hampton is looking for year-round staff, from managers to runners, and everything in between. If you are interested, email your résumé to theo.rowdyhall@gmail.com.

-- On Saturday, a Barnes Landing Community Yard Sale will be held between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Don't forget to advertise your yard sale ahead of the weekend, by putting it on our yard sale map.

-- Like Rowdy Hall and the Barnes Landing community, you can post your announcement on the East Hampton Patch boards.

-- Make a difference in the lives of your neighbors who live in Suffolk County's long-term care homes. Family Service League's Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is seeking volunteers to train as advocates for residents living in nursing homes, adult care homes, and family-type homes.
