— Don't forget, Sag Harbor voters: The board of the John Jermain Memorial Library is asking voters to approve an approximately $2.2 million budget, a 2.8 percent increase, though it will pierce the state-mandated 2 percent tax levy cap. Voting takes place at the temporary library headquarters on West Water Street from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
— National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday and, members of the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons are going to be on hand throughout the South Fork to get more residents ready to vote. Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. they will be at the following locations: Montauk Post Office on South Euclid Avenue, Amagansett Square on Main Street, Waldbaum’s Supermarket on Newtown Lane and One Stop Market on Springs-Fireplace Road in East Hampton, and Schiavoni’s Market on Main Street in Sag Harbor.
— Such good news yesterday. Medio Figliolia, an 87-year-old Mastic man who suffers from dementia and went missing last week, was found safe in Amagansett on Monday afternoon. Two local women helped police find him after they saw him and said something. Good lesson for us all right?
— The Peconic Institute is looking for old laptops that they can refurbish to give to participants in their English As a Second Language "Digital Age Family Literacy Program." There are a few drop off locations. In East Hampton, you can leave them at LTV Studios in Wainscott. The drive ends Sept. 30.
— The Hamptons International Film Festival is coming up Oct. 10 to 14. The festival announced some of its programs, including "A Conversation With . . ." Helena Bonham Carter on Oct. 12. The film guide goes live on Wednesday. The Box Office opens Friday. Check back for more details.
