Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Welcome to East Hampton Patch

Your new online news source for all things East Hampton is here.

Thank you for visiting East Hampton Patch. We're glad you're here.

East Hampton Patch will be an invaluable news and information source for the entire area. We'll be here seven days a week to tell you what's going on. If you want to know what's happening at your child's school, or what to do this weekend, we're the place for you.

Let's take a tour of the site so you can be part of this growing phenomenon:

LISTINGS

Planning a dinner out with weekend guests? This is where you'll find everything to know about the restaurants, and any business for that matter, that are right in your backyard. We'll give you their addresses, phone numbers, hours of operation and even maps to show you how to get there.

EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Is your organization holding a fundraiser or looking for volunteers? Then let us know about it in our events and announcements section. From government meetings to charity car washes, this is where you'll find out what's going on and you can upload your event right to the website. We also want to know the important things that are going on in your life. If you're getting married, won an award or honor, place it in our announcement section. You can place an obituary or graduation news here.

NEWS

We want to cover everything that's important to you and our news section is divided into several categories. We'll keep you abreast of what's going on in Town and Village government and let you know how county and state news affects East Hampton. We'll follow East Hampton, Amagansett, Montauk, Springs, and Wainscott School Districts and keep you informed about the decisions that are being made that will impact your child's education. We'll stay in touch with police and fire officials and report on crime or fires in the area.  We'll be on top of the business community with profiles and news that affects the local economy. We'll hear from arts organizations and let you know about performances in the area. And if you're a die-hard fan for local sports teams, we'll let you know the score. We'll get opinions from local leaders or anyone with a good point to make. And if you have something you want to sound off about, let us know. Finally, we'll shine a spotlight on volunteers in the area.  You'll see profiles of their extraordinary work and we want to hear from you about your efforts to make the South Fork even better.

This site belongs to you as much as it does to us. We want your comments, opinions, announcements and ideas. If you think there's something that we should cover, let us know. Feel free to email me, Taylor K. Vecsey, at taylor.vecsey@patch.com or call 631-655-9801.

So glad that you have moved upward and onward with integrity, grace, thoughtfulness, and a sense of "fairness" in reporting that others, for one reason or another, can't seem to achieve. And I know you and a lot of others out there in the "business" who have had their stories changed and edited becaue "the boss says so" know what I mean!! Good job Taylor!
