Video: St. Michael's Congregation Blesses Housing Project Start

Parishioners, pastor conducted ceremony before demolition began.

After a decade long planning process, construction on the affordable senior housing in Amagansett broke ground last week. First, the parishioners and its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Katrina Foster, decomissioned the parsonage house of its original use, so that it could be demolished to make way for the housing and community center, next to the church. Through prayers and the act of aspirsions, or sprinkling water on the house as a blessing, the congregation looked back fondly on 45 years of memories and look forward to the project being completed in September 2012.
